Tasting our way through St. John

As everyone knows Ruckus LOVES Palm Trees, Beaches, Girls in Bikinis, St. John, Woody's, Painkillers, Shark Bites and everything Beachy.
Ashley and I returned to St. John at the end of March JUST to make sure we were getting the Shark Bites right and the Pain Killers right.
Here's the lengths we go through to make sure our Ruckus Guests have an Authentic experience at Ruckus.
We had a bit of a problem getting out of the country and got stuck in South Beach.  So we did what anyone would do and took in the sights of  Ocean Drive.
We stopped at The Clevelander to take the edge off and there was a photo shoot going on.

Well, we had to stay and watch for awhile.

And the Video

We finally got to St. John about 11pm after getting up at 4am. It was a long day - BUT fun awaited.
We made it to Woody's to make sure our Shark Bites back home were as delicious as the original.
We tried several batches just to make sure.

We marveled that their kitchen was smaller than Ruckus 1 in Mission Valley and hung out at the bar.
Beech and I also met some of the locals.

We made it back to the house to enjoy the sunset.  Our view is of St. Thomas from the house.

We had a 9am appointment with Born To Rhumb - our boat for a few days.  We found Capt. Kevin 2 years ago because he has one of the FEW boats that can take more than 6 people.

We travel in herds so this is important.  The boat is spacious and travels 20 knots so we can get from island to island.  This is the favorite part of our trip.

If you have never had the chance to visit St. John we strongly suggest you find some time to unplug in the Caribbean and enjoy this island.

We stopped in Peter Bay where there are a LOT of impressive homes.

The one on the end is the house that Houswives of NY stayed in.

It's for sale for like $30mm and rents for $30k per week.

We snorkled at The Indians and a new spot this year where we saw a Spotted Eagle Ray and a Sea Turtle. Which was very exciting.

We stopped at The Willy T for lunch - a boat with a kitchen.  You pull up, dock, eat, drink and jump off the boat.

We did all.

I drove to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Cause I am The Captain.

You have to wade in and most of the money they get is wet.

It is the most idyllic beach bar in the world.  You can find the Soggy Dollar Bar Cam here.

We rode in this truck all over the island up and down STEEP hills.

We had FABULOUS dinners at ZoZos at Gallowspoint.

This pasta will make an appearance at Ruckus soon!

Steak with Chimmichuri sauce at La Plancha, food was great but the service would have gotten anyone at Ruckus fired!

Fantastic Tuna with aioli sauce at Rhumb Lines.

Pasta a la pescatore also at Zozo's!

We did quite a bit of hanging with great friends also.

A Lot of GREAT Sunsets!

So if you have the chance to get down to St. John ask us where to go.  We love this island and like to bring back a little bit of it to Ruckus each time.

I'll let you know when we get the pasta dishes on the specials menu.
